Long

Full day of work. I think I'm finally catching on. All I can feel of my legs/feet is pain. I'm sure that'll get better once I get used to the long hours on my feet. I earned $16 in tips today! My first tips! I'm also starting to get to know the other waitresses. The Cherry Hut is such a friendly place to work.

Alone

Feet crunch through sand
Off, running.
Hair flying, camera in hand.
Solitude.
Like the first snow.
A stone thrown, into a vast ocean.
A love, lost.
Silent and mysterious as a cloud.
A beautiful lake.
The golden hour.
For a moment everything is perfect.

Cold, harsh reality sets in.
Warmth fleeting.
With every moment, every breath of air.
Seeking the sunset.
Hoping for the warmth to come back.
But it has escaped.

Shadowing


Today I shadowed a waitress. I filled lots of drinks and learned more about serving. I also had to serve my boss and his family for lunch. They caught all my mistakes. I was so nervous that I forgot like half of the stuff that I had been taught. Then I served two tables with a waitress watching me but I did all the talking and serving. Good first day on the job!
I came back and went in the lake. It felt so good. I'm gonna have such nice arm muscles after this summer from all the carrying and swimming! My mom and brother arrived today and we had a family dinner with my uncle and aunt also. I made cornbread to go with dinner.
I didn't take many pictures today since I spent most of the day in the Cherry Hut but here's some of the dogs and my brother making funny faces.

Black and White Troubles


I tried shooting mostly in black and white today. I'm really not a black and white photographer so it was a challenge. I'm gonna keep trying. I don't really like my black and white photos but here are some of them.
I had an orchestra concert tonight... My grandma convinced me to join her community orchestra. That meant I had to wear black and white. Two colors I never wear (and didn't bring with me on this trip). I ended up looking super ridiculous in my black leggings with my grandma's (untucked) white nice shirt overtop and some black shoes that my grandma didn't want anymore and was gonna sell at the resale shop. At least my hair looked nice? I tried a braided bun, there are pictures at the bottom of this post.

I tried many things with my hair. I tried to sleep with my damp hair in a loose bun to make curls. It sorta worked.

I couldn't decide which version of this picture I liked better...

Organized


My stuff went from piles littered around the house to drawers and rows. Not much was happening today. It rained in the afternoon/ evening. I played a lot of guitar and violin.
